Scopes doing the business!

Nash ambassadors Chris Petter and Duncan Charman had a memorable session at Farnham AS Badshot Lea Big Pond with Chris recording a personal best catfish in a multiple moggy haul.

Managing to get the rods out at dusk, Chris decided to target catfish on one rod and grass carp on the other. During the night Chris banked five catfish weighing 18lb 2oz,18lb 5oz, 19lb 8oz, 21lb 12oz and a new personal best of exactly 33lb using 10 ft 3 lb Scopes.

Successful tactics were double 16mm pellets soaked in Lobster Thermadore over a bed of 8mm pellets. Chris also landed a 14lb grass carp on the same tactics, whilst the particle approach intended for grass carp only produced one 11lb mirror.

Terminal tackle consisted of size 4 barbless Fang Gaper hooks, 35lb Armourlink silt hooklinks and 2oz inline flat pear leads pinned down with Cling-on tungsten tubing. Duncan opted for an all out particle approach using maize as hookbait over hemp, crimped and whole maize with grass carp his quarry and finished the session with an 18lb 8oz grass carp and an 18lb 15oz mirror. Duncan used 9ft 2.75lb Scope rods armed with size 8 Fang Uni hooks, 15lb Combilink Silt hooklinks and 2oz inline flat pear leads pinned down with Cling-on tungsten tubing.
